February: The Month of Love and Boosting Self-Esteem
Love and Self-Esteem Are Two Halves of a Heart Circle
Who doesn't love LOVE and hearts? The month of February is made for love with all the promotion around Valentine's Day. But we like to think that love is worthy of promotion all year, especially when love is directed toward your children, families and you! Today's world is hard on kids and families; there's so many stressors and worries. So let us be a soft landing place for you.
This page includes resources about one of the most critical components of love: self-esteem. While February is also International Boost Self-Esteem Month, it's important to stay in tune with self-esteem all year.
Another important aspect of love is self-compassion, which is both tender and fierce. Kristen Neff, acclaimed mindful self-compassion teacher and trainer (and fellow Texan) says, “Self-compassion allows us to be with ourselves as we are in all of our brokenness. Fierce compassion calls on us to be brave, to take action, to do something to mitigate suffering.” You'll find more work of Kristen's work here too.
We sincerely hope your month of love (and every month) finds you filled with self-esteem, self-compassion and love!
